Helpful Information
Celsius to Fahrenheit formula
°F = (°C × 9/5) + 32. Equivalently, multiply by 1.8 and add 32. For example, 20 °C (room temperature) = 68 °F, and 100 °C (water's boiling point) = 212 °F.
Common temperatures at a glance
0 °C (freezing) = 32 °F · 18 °C = 64.4 °F · 20 °C = 68 °F · 25 °C = 77 °F · 37 °C (body temperature) = 98.6 °F · 100 °C = 212 °F
Why the scales differ
Anders Celsius designed his scale around water's freezing and boiling points (0 and 100). Fahrenheit's scale places freezing at 32 and boiling at 212, which is why the conversion needs both a multiply and an offset.
