Privacy Policy
Tools2 is a collection of free, browser-based tools. We built it to be private by default: your files are processed on your own device, and you never need an account. This policy explains what little information we handle and how we protect your privacy.
01The short version
- Files you use with our tools are processed entirely in your browser and are never uploaded to our servers.
- You never need an account, an email address, or a download to use Tools2.
- The only thing we store on your device is your theme preference.
- We collect anonymous, aggregated usage data to understand what is useful and keep the site fast.
02Your files stay on your device
All file processing — PDFs, images, audio, video, text, and everything else — runs client-side in your browser tab. When you drop a file into a tool, it never leaves your device. This means we cannot access, view, store, or share your files, even if we wanted to. When you close the tab, your files and any generated results are gone.
03Information we collect
- Theme preference — saved in your browser's local storage so your light or dark choice persists between visits.
- Anonymous usage data — pages visited and tools used, aggregated so we can improve the site.
- Standard server logs — IP address, browser type, and timestamps, retained briefly for security and diagnostics.
04Cookies and local storage
We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking. Tools2 relies only on browser local storage for your theme preference. If you clear your browser data, Tools2 simply resets to your system's default appearance.
05Analytics
We use privacy-friendly analytics that do not require identifying cookies. These give us aggregate numbers — like which tools are popular — so we know what to build next. We never sell or share your personal information.
06Third-party links
Tools2 may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to review their policies before sharing any information with them.
07Children's privacy
Tools2 is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, contact us and we will delete it.
08Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
